Post-Disaster Housing Highlights 2022

The year 2022 was a busy and productive year for us. We've seen substantial growth in our NGO and Government Agency relationships.

Thanks to LandIt Modular, we have a 500 sq/ft housing structure fully built and functional in California. This is the first finished house using Kauri Foundation's universal housing designs, and we couldn't be more excited to see what was once a rendering on paper become a reality!

Kauri Foundation values taking time to honor and recognize organizations doing remarkable things and changing lives. We had the opportunity to speak with Reverend Andy Bales, the President, and CEO of the Los Angles based, non-profit organization Union Rescue Mission. We invite you to read this interview on our blog - Part 1 and Part 2.

We had the privilege of attending the May 2022 UK Construction Week in London, England with Off Site Alliance. This three day conference opened our eyes to the advanced technological resources that we have access to when it comes to providing safe, secure, and dignified homes to people in disaster struck areas. We are excited for all of the connections we established throughout the weekend that will aid in our efforts in providing post-disaster housing.

Following the convention, Mark Southgate, the Chief Executive at MOBIE (the Ministry of Building Innovation and Education), graciously wrote an article for the Kauri Foundation on how MOBIE and the Kauri Foundation share the same vision when it comes to alleviating the current global housing crisis, starting with the UK. We align in our vision of securing good homes for everyone, in reducing these home’s environmental impact, and in inspiring the next generation to create the homes of the future. We encourage you to read this article on our blog!

We've established global partnerships with Non-Government Organizations (NGO's); most recently we aligned with Bethel Global Response (based in Redding, CA). We were privileged to host an interview with Carl Ladd, Director of Bethel Global Response (BGR) - we invite you to read it on our blog in Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Through BGR, we established connections with local churches on the ground in Ukraine and Romania and found significant doors being opened to assist people in these key post-disaster locations.

Through our association with the Modular Building Institute, Individuals, Church, and Government and Government Agencies we've been able to gain influence in the European Union, the USA, specifically, the State of Florida, Texas and California.

When Hurricane Ian decimated parts of Florida in September, we saw this as a prime opportunity to be able to provide safe, secure, dignified homes to communities right in our backyard. As of December 14, 2022, we are embarking on next steps in providing our look book, along with specifications and pricing for our housing structures with entry, mid, and premium level finishes.  We anticipate the early months of 2023 will move forward well.

On top of this, we are in the final two phases in being recognized as a licensed Post-Disaster Housing provider for all of Europe! Additionally, we are in phase one of a four phase process to benchmark against global post-disaster housing providers.

We couldn’t have done this alone!

Every contribution from you, our partners and friends, has brought us one step closer to providing permanent homes for displaced families in need. Thank you so much for your financial contributions to the Kauri Foundation this year. By partnering with us financially, you have been directly involved in changing the lives of millions!

We wish you a very Blessed, Happy, and Prosperous New Year!
