Real Homes For Real People

For the average person, hearing about families and children fleeing their home country because of war or disaster insights feelings of sympathy and compassion. After reading an article or hearing a story, they might say a prayer for these families, express to their friends and loved ones how sad the situation is, or maybe even make a donation. While sympathy and compassion for our fellow man are essential, it doesn't change the situation. For the refugee, the story goes on. Global Citizen (2017) describes it like this: "Many refugees are guided into large, bare-bones, temporary resettlements, or shanty towns. They work in underground markets, they get food and supplies from aid agencies, and they wait, sometimes indefinitely, for better options to arise."

What happens to these families depends on how lucky they get. Some are able to find asylum in a safe country and build lives for themselves and their children. They often end up in tents and temporary shelters, waiting for a better option. Kauri Foundation is the better option. No matter where we are from, we can't stand idly by, telling our friends and family how sad the refugee crisis makes us, and continue to do nothing. Kauri Foundation has made it its mission to do more; to provide real homes to real people. Join Kauri Foundation today to do more for the families who need it most.
