The Ability To Stay
Imagine being woken up in the middle of the night by a notification on your phone, a blaring siren, or a fervent knock on the door telling you that you had to flee your home immediately! Nobody ever anticipates it will happen to them. Unfortunately, no community is immune to the threat of war or disaster. Now, imagine being told that your home and all of your possessions that you had to leave behind have been destroyed. There is no home to go back to.
You are now left with two choices: to rebuild your home, or move somewhere else and start over. Rebuilding would allow you to keep your job, allow your kids to remain at the same school, and allow your family to keep their support systems. This is the decision that approximately 32 million families have to make every year (Eastern Kentucky University, 2020).
According to an extensive survey done by NPR (Baker and Montanaro 2021), two-thirds of Americans would prefer to rebuild rather than move somewhere else if their homes were destroyed by a natural disaster. Kauri Foundation is the solution for those who do not want to start over in a new place. Rather than the years that it typically takes for homes to be rebuilt, Kauri Foundation’s homes can be assembled in weeks at a fraction of the cost. Even better, these homes can withstand fiery conditions, hurricane-force winds, and resident bacteria and mold growth. Kauri Foundation prioritized these features so that families who decide to stay are not left to make the same difficult decision a few years later. Partnering with Kauri Foundation is not an opportunity that communities can afford to pass up. Join Kauri Foundation in ensuring that families have the choice to stay in their communities for years to come.
